Human Resources Specialist – Hotel (Occidental Jandia Playa)

About the role

The Hotel Human Resources Specialist will support the Occidental Jandia Playa property by managing all HR administrative processes, ensuring compliance with labour legislation, and fostering a positive employee experience. You will work closely with hotel managers and the wider Barceló Group to maintain a safe, motivated, and well‑trained workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Administer personnel records, contract documentation, settlements and daily employee queries.
• Coordinate occupational health and safety actions, including medical checks, mandatory training, PPE distribution and absenteeism monitoring.
• Drive employee experience initiatives such as onboarding, internal communication, wellbeing programs, recognitions and employee assistance.
• Assist in recruitment and development by conducting interviews for operational staff and identifying training needs with area managers.
• Plan, organise and monitor mandatory and corporate training to ensure compliance with training plans.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent in Labour Relations, Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or related field.
• Previous experience in a generalist HR role, preferably within hospitality or other people‑intensive sectors.
• Solid knowledge of labour legislation and occupational risk prevention.
• Strong communication, organisational skills and a client‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work discreetly, autonomously and with a problem‑solving focus.
