ICT Engineer

About the role

The ICT Engineer will support Digicel Business Solutions by delivering field site surveys, solution design, service installations, and ongoing maintenance. The role involves both on‑site and remote work, including 24/7 monitoring and support of ICT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field site surveys, scope solutions, and design delivery plans.
• Install services, including last‑mile connectivity, and perform planned maintenance.
• Configure ICT infrastructure at customer sites, PoPs, and data centres across technologies such as microwave, GSM, fibre, IP/MPLS, voice, cloud and wireless.
• Monitor ticket queues, manage tickets per SLA, and document configurations, as‑builts and processes.
• Participate in operational acceptance of new hardware, preventive maintenance, and incident management.
• Support training programs for technical staff and assist Managed Service Help Desk and sales teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Science, ICT or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar ICT engineering role.
• Strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure and handle anti‑social hours.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills.

Required skills

• IP principles, OSI model, switching (STP, QoS, port security) and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, ACLs).
• Service provider technologies: MPLS, L2VPN, L3VPN, WAN principles.
• Voice and telephony: SIP, E1/T1, VoIP, AudioCodes, Broadsoft, PBX equipment.
• Security/firewall appliances, cloud computing, wireless IEEE 802.11.
• Certifications (preferred): Cisco CCNA (Service Provider, Collaboration, Security), Juniper JNCIA, Fortinet NSE4, Huawei HCIA‑R&S, Avaya, Meraki, AudioCodes.
