In-House BI & Analytics Consultant

About the role

Sulzer is looking for an experienced In-House Consultant BI & Analytics to join its Global IT BI & Analytics team in Madrid. The role sits at the intersection of business, data, analytics and AI, combining technical expertise with business consulting skills and close partnership with senior stakeholders. It is not a pure IT development role.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to understand requirements and turn them into scalable analytics solutions.
• Design, develop and enhance enterprise BI applications using Qlik Sense.
• Deliver insights and dashboards that support strategic and operational decisions.
• Work with Snowflake and modern data platforms to build trusted, scalable data solutions.
• Support the "One Sulzer" harmonisation strategy through standardised reporting and analytics.
• Promote self-service analytics and data literacy across the organisation.
• Explore and implement emerging technologies such as AI, Generative AI, Copilots and Agentic AI.
• Build intelligent applications and data products connected to the modern data platform.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams on data models and scalable solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders globally.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics or In-House Consulting.
• Hands-on experience with senior business stakeholders and strong consulting and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to gather business requirements and turn them into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Highly desirable: experience in an international or global organisation.

Required skills

• Qlik Sense (strong hands-on experience)
• Advanced SQL
• Desirable: Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, Tableau or Looker
• Desirable: knowledge of modern data warehousing and exposure to AI, Generative AI, Copilots or emerging analytics technologies
