Information Systems Officer – UN OICT, Valencia

About the role

The Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) is driving the United Nations’ digital transformation. The Information Systems Officer will design, develop and maintain moderately complex enterprise systems that support UN operations worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Manage projects that include feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development and implementation of new systems.
• Develop detailed functional specifications, user documentation and training materials.
• Provide specialized advice to users, translate requirements into applications and ensure system integration.
• Maintain, upgrade and troubleshoot existing user systems, ensuring data security and access controls.
• Organize and perform unit and integrated testing, supporting user acceptance testing.
• Research, analyze and recommend new technologies for deployment.
• Coordinate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with clients and vendors, handling contract administration.
• Collect and visualize data to support decision‑making and reporting.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent combination of degree and experience.
• At least five years of progressive experience in planning, designing, developing, implementing and maintaining computer information systems, including four years leading software‑engineering teams delivering solutions for large, geographically dispersed user bases.
