Instructional Designer

About the role

Edwards Lifesciences, which makes medical devices and technologies that help patients worldwide, is looking for an Instructional Designer. The role leads, designs and develops complex technical and non-technical training activities using various media and training materials, working with internal stakeholders to build end-to-end training strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, design and develop complex technical and non-technical instructional activities using various media and training materials to achieve learning objectives.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to define training program outcomes and success metrics, and set criteria for evaluating training effectiveness.
• Conduct job, task and performance analyses to develop training objectives.
• Test and validate instructional design with learners and stakeholders, and coach clients on the instructional design process and its outcomes.
• Use evaluation results to improve training programs and share best practices.
• Evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors developing, translating and administering training programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design or a related field.
• 6 years of related adult learning experience, including designing courses and using training delivery methods such as ILT, CBT, web-based, virtual classes and performance support tools.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Preferred: proven use of MS Office, LMS and tools such as Articulate and Captivate.
• Preferred: strong understanding of adult learning theory, motivation theory and LMS technology.
• Preferred: excellent communication, leadership, presentation and facilitation skills, and ability to manage competing priorities.
