Integration of Tactical Datalinks Internship – Airbus Discover II

About the role

Airbus is offering a full‑time, 11‑month internship as part of its Discover II graduate programme in Spain. The role focuses on the integration of Tactical Data Links (TDL) such as Link16 and JRE into airborne platforms like the A330 MRTT and A400M, providing hands‑on experience in avionics system integration.

Key responsibilities

• Support the definition of System Functional Specifications for TDL integration.
• Assist in the design and validation of Human‑Machine Interfaces (HMI) related to tactical datalinks.
• Participate in integration activities for Link16 and JRE on real aircraft platforms.
• Collaborate with the Communications department and cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficiency in English at B2 level or higher.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a complex, international environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Link16 tactical datalink.
• Familiarity with JRE (Joint Radio Engineering) systems.
• Experience with Human‑Machine Interface design.
