Investigations Counsel

About the role

Ericsson is seeking an experienced Investigations Counsel to join its Corporate and Government Investigations (CGI) team. The role will be based either at the UK headquarters in Reading or the Madrid office, working in a hybrid model (60% onsite, 40% remote). You will provide legal guidance on complex internal and cross‑border investigations and support the company’s ethics and compliance programme.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on internal, cross‑border and government investigations, ensuring attorney‑client privilege where applicable.
• Supervise external counsel and collaborate with colleagues handling civil litigation related to investigations.
• Lead forensic‑sound internal investigations of Code of Business Ethics violations, complying with employment and data‑privacy laws.
• Draft clear investigation reports and present findings to senior decision‑makers.
• Assist in developing investigation policies, risk‑mitigation strategies and reporting mechanisms.
• Navigate ambiguity, adapt to evolving business needs and maintain objectivity throughout investigations.

Required profile

• Law degree from an accredited institution.
• Admission to practice law and good standing with the relevant bar or regulatory authority.
• 7+ years of experience handling complex investigations, litigation or regulatory enforcement matters, preferably with prosecutors and regulators.
• Proven ability to report findings to senior stakeholders and influence decision‑making.
