ISR Mission Systems Engineer

About the role

Aerbus Defence and Space is looking for an ISR Mission Systems Engineer in Getafe (Madrid). The engineer joins a team developing ISR mission systems for aircraft such as the C295, RPAS/UAS and A400M. The work follows a V-shaped development framework and covers detailed design, supplier technical steering, and verification and validation.

Key responsibilities

• System detailed design: functional requirements, modelling and prototyping, subsystem specifications, ICDs, drawings and equipment integration.
• Supplier technical steering within the V-shaped development approach.
• Verification and validation: product laboratory validation, support for ground and flight testing, and qualification and certification of the product.

Required profile

• No management position; technical profile.
• Previous experience in ISR missions (maritime surveillance/patrol, antisubmarine warfare, AGS, EW, etc.) is highly valued.
• Proactiveness is essential.
• Good communication skills, assertiveness and willingness to travel.
• Strong spoken and written Spanish and English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of mission sensors and subsystems: optics, radar (SAR, MPR), SIGINT/ELINT/ESM/COMINT, ASW sensors.
• Knowledge of displays, navigation systems, computing platforms and transponders.
• Knowledge of UAS and/or manned mission systems.
• Development and integration activities, from requirements capture to verification and validation, including safety, quality assurance and configuration control.
• Procurement activities, from supplier selection to control and monitoring.
