IT Application Operation Manager (100%) – Madrid

About the role

Julius Baer is looking for an IT Application Operation Manager (100%, f/m/d) based in Madrid. The role oversees the end-to-end operation of an IT service according to predefined service level agreements, including tracking service dependencies and managing the service lifecycle proactively. It also involves acting as Deputy Team Head for a larger team mainly based in Zurich.

Key responsibilities

• Drive application management covering maintenance and support, SLAs, incident, problem, release/test and risk management, and documentation
• Lead business analysis, solution design and the implementation and deployment of changes and enhancements with the software vendor
• Contribute to project assignments such as data migrations and impact analysis
• Execute implementation and testing of product releases

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an IT Service Owner, Application Responsible or a similar role
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
• First experience as a Team Head preferred, or a strong ambition to move into a leadership role
• Experience in Treasury and Nostro business preferred
• Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages are an asset

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of MS Windows Server environments, ETL tools, MS SQL, reporting and scripting
• Experience with end-of-day processing (AWA) and communication between applications and modern interfaces (APIs, IBM MQ)
• Good knowledge of ITIL frameworks and enterprise IT infrastructure
• Knowledge of security aspects of applications and incident/change/release management in large financial-sector companies
