Junior Test Automation Engineer (Python)

About the role

Dev.Pro, a US-based outsourced software development company, is hiring a Junior Test Automation Engineer to join its global team of IT professionals working remotely. The role involves creating and running automated tests, reviewing test results and helping identify issues in complex cloud-based systems, with hands-on performance testing through test scripts and metric collection.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain and run automated tests
• Investigate test failures and fix issues with automated tests
• Run pre-scripted performance tests (Load, Stress, Spike and Soak/Endurance)
• Record performance metrics such as latency, response times, throughput, error rates and HTTP response codes
• Monitor basic performance metrics using AWS CloudWatch
• Review test results, identify anomalies and report them to intermediate and senior team members

Required profile

• Up to 1.5 years of experience in software testing or test automation
• Understanding of software testing principles and QA practices
• Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Upper-intermediate English

Required skills

• Basic programming or scripting in Python or Scala
• Basic understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, headers, payloads and API status codes
• Desirable: performance testing concepts and tools such as JMeter, Locust or Gatling
• Desirable: AWS or AWS CloudWatch, Git, Linux command line and relevant certifications (e.g. ISTQB CTFL)
