Lab Test Means Integration Engineer

About the role

A vacancy has arisen for a Lab Test Means Integration Engineer at Airbus Defence & Space, based at the Getafe site in Spain. The engineer joins a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design, build and integration of laboratory test means used across Defence and Space programmes. The role covers technical challenges, adapting to changing project priorities, keeping schedules and quality and costs under control.

Key responsibilities

• Electrical and electronic design of test benches from system architecture
• Interface with external partners and suppliers, and communicate in design reviews, test reports and project follow-up meetings
• Solve problem reports and implement change requests
• Perform HW/SW integration for test benches and manage test facilities and their maintenance
• Carry out on-site acceptance tests with customers (internal or external) and contribute to test bench validation
• Support cross-program configuration control and cross-functional procedures

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical, Telecommunications, Automation & Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• Good knowledge of avionics systems; experience with mission systems, data links or sensors is a plus
• Eligibility for security clearance by the relevant authorities is required
• Fluent written and spoken English (B2 level or higher)
• Desired: knowledge of aircraft systems, aeronautical projects and Airbus processes (SAP, DMS)

Required skills

• High experience in AutoCAD, Altium Designer or other electrical/electronic tools
• Software testing experience is beneficial
• Problem solving, decision making, ability to accept delegation and teamwork
