Lead Engineer - System Value Optimization

About the role

Gevernova is looking for a System Value Optimization (SVO) Engineer in Barcelona. The role covers wind turbine aeroelastic simulations for both New Product Development and Fleet Support, following Design Practices and IEC guidelines. It includes loads execution, tool and method development, and preparation of certification documentation, within a team focused on robust, cost-efficient turbine designs.

Key responsibilities

• Execute mechanical loads analyses, controller tunings and trade-offs (loads, stability, operation and performance) for new products, cost-out, design updates and fleet support.
• Prepare loads inputs, build the aeroelastic model, run loads analysis and post-process results as part of the design loop.
• Perform basic operability checks and frequency-domain stability checks, and update loads envelopes.
• Hand off models and controllers to the MLA team for site-specific assessments.
• Carry out feasibility studies and develop tech charts.
• Deliver loads mitigation and performance optimization technologies to lower LCOE, and propose process simplification and tool automation.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Desired: Master's degree in mechanical, civil or aerospace engineering.
• Experience in aeroelastic loads simulations and in wind turbine control technologies, operability and validation.
• Expert knowledge of wind turbine component design criteria.
• Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment, with strong oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of aeroelastic simulation platforms: Bladed, HAWC2, Simpack, SDM.
• Relevant years of wind experience with loads assessments.
