About the role
We are looking for a highly skilled Lead HR Business Partner to join our People team in Madrid. Reporting to the VP of HR Business Partnering, you will co‑create and execute the HR strategy for Spain, partnering closely with the CTO, technology leadership, and the Works Council.
Key responsibilities
- Act as strategic partner and trusted advisor to the CTO, technology leadership team, and product leads on talent development, performance, culture, engagement, employee relations and organisational design.
- Lead HR operations for Spain, ensuring end‑to‑end processes deliver excellent service and escalations are resolved with HR leadership.
- Design, own and implement HR initiatives aligned with best practice and the company’s people strategy.
- Coach and develop leaders at all levels to build organisational capability.
- Partner with Communications & Engagement to design employee involvement and engagement plans.
- Collaborate with Centres of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, etc.) on people programs.
- Maintain employment policies, ensure legal compliance and communicate policy application.
- Establish HR metrics, analyse performance indicators and design data‑driven strategies.
- Develop strong relationships with the Works Council to support growth and engagement.
- Support talent acquisition, global mobility, graduate recruitment and internal secondments.
- Conduct employee surveys, analyse results and champion aligned programmes.
- Handle routine employee‑relations matters, including grievances and disciplinary issues.
- Promote diversity and inclusion as a culture ambassador.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a Senior or Lead HR Business Partner in a global, complex environment.
- Successful track record supporting technology employee populations (Engineering, Product, Data, Infrastructure).
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices and employment regulations.
- Experience designing and implementing innovative HR initiatives.
- Ability to coach and develop leaders from line managers to executives.
- Experience working with Works Councils or similar employee representative bodies.
- Hands‑on involvement in talent acquisition, workforce planning and global mobility.
- Strong analytical skills to establish and interpret HR metrics.
