Legal Counsel – MedTech (Spain)

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide day‑to‑day legal support for its MedTech businesses in Spain. The role works closely with the Legal Director Iberia MedTech and partners with commercial teams to ensure compliant growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver operational legal support for MedTech operations in Spain.
• Review, draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including distribution, agency, and contracts with private and public hospitals and insurance companies.
• Standardize legal documentation, processes and guidelines to enable compliant business expansion.
• Advise on public procurement laws, tender processes, bid strategy, contract execution and risk mitigation.
• Develop and maintain legal templates and contracting frameworks for consistency across business models.
• Support corporate governance and company secretarial duties for Spanish entities.
• Provide training on contract law, competition law, anti‑corruption and public procurement.
• Monitor new legislation in healthcare, commercial, competition and compliance areas and translate it into actionable guidance.
• Promote a culture of integrity, ethics and compliance, ensuring adherence to J&J standards, FCPA and local anti‑bribery laws.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in Spain, graduate of an accredited Spanish law school.
• Master of Laws from a top‑tier university (highly desired).
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish.
• 5–6 years of relevant legal experience post‑qualification.
