Manager, Data Engineering

About the role

The Manager, Data Engineering leads the development and operation of scalable data platforms that support enterprise analytics including reporting and machine learning initiatives. The manager leads a team of data engineers in building and maintaining reliable data pipelines in a modern cloud data environment, and partners with analytics, data governance and business stakeholders to align data solutions with enterprise data strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of the enterprise data platform architecture supporting analytics, reporting and machine learning.
• Establish and enforce data engineering standards, best practices and development frameworks.
• Oversee the cloud data environment built on Snowflake and Microsoft Azure and drive its continuous improvement.
• Lead the development and operation of ELT/ETL pipelines that ingest and transform data from multiple enterprise systems.
• Manage and mentor a team of data engineers and ensure timely delivery of high-quality data solutions.
• Ensure the reliability, performance and data quality of pipelines supporting enterprise analytics workloads.
• Contribute to the enterprise data and analytics strategy and collaborate with enterprise architecture, IT and data governance teams on security, governance and compliance.
• Partner with data science, analytics and business teams to enable advanced analytics and data-driven decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• 8-12 years of experience in data engineering, data platform development or related roles.
• 3-5 years of experience managing or leading data engineering teams.
• Experience designing and operating enterprise-scale data platforms and pipelines.
• Experience in large or global enterprise environments is preferred.

Required skills

• Expertise in cloud data platforms and data warehousing, particularly Snowflake.
• Expertise in Microsoft Azure services.
• Leadership, collaboration, strategic and analytical thinking, and communication.
