Mass Properties Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence & Space is looking for a Mass Properties Engineer to join the Flight Physics Department in Getafe, Spain. The role supports the development, operation and de‑commissioning of aircraft by managing mass‑related data throughout the vehicle life‑cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Define mass status, target mass and routes to target for new and derivative vehicles.
• Perform mass estimations, calculations, accounting and weight control, including validation by weighing.
• Deliver mass models for loads analyses and support trade studies, benchmarking and competitor analyses.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise vehicle design and contribute to overall vehicle optimisation.
• Provide mass‑related input for design reviews, weight maturity reviews and risk & opportunity tracking.
• Support marketing with customer guarantees and vehicle delivery documentation.
• Develop mass‑properties competencies across combat and military transport programmes in a transnational team.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or related field.
• 0‑5 years of experience; experience in Flight Physics, Structural Design or Mass Properties is highly valuable.
• Advanced English; German is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in an open, trusting environment.
