Mechanical Analysis Engineer - PWP

About the role

Aerospacial company Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Mechanical Analysis Engineer to join its PWP Mechanical Analysis Team in Getafe (Madrid). The team takes part in designing the ADS platform PWP through modelling, load evaluation (static, fatigue, dynamic, thermal) and structure/system definition and validation. It develops static, thermal and dynamic models of the PWP structure to integrate engines across platforms, and supports the design from pre-design through certification and prototype testing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform static, fatigue and damage tolerance (F&DT) calculations and analysis in metallic, composite and hybrid structures at component level.
• Evaluate structural stresses and produce strength margins or reserve factors according to validated Airbus methods and sizing processes.
• Use standard F&DT tools to analyse damaged structures and provide stress analyses for component repair or acceptance.
• Work with Flight Physics, Design and System Integration departments to keep structural alignment from pre-design to in-service support.
• Support the definition, implementation and validation of the PWP structure design, taking part in main design reviews and certification.

Required profile

• Aeronautical or industrial engineering degree or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in aeronautical engineering mechanical stress analysis.
• Advanced English.
• Teamwork, networking and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Python programming (advanced).
• NASTRAN (advanced).
• CATIA.
