Medical Science Liaison Iberia

About the role

Santen, a global company founded in Japan with a 130-year heritage focused on eye health, is looking for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Iberia to join its Medical Affairs team. This field-based role acts as a scientific expert and trusted partner to healthcare professionals, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other external stakeholders across Spain and Portugal, working with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Clinical Development and Marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain scientific relationships with KOLs and healthcare professionals, and share balanced, evidence-based medical information on Santen products and therapeutic areas.
• Present scientific and clinical data to physicians, pharmacists, formulary committees and hospital practitioners, and support medical education materials and customer training.
• Attend local, national and international congresses and scientific meetings, and monitor scientific developments.
• Support local Medical Affairs and R&D studies, including IST and Santen-sponsored studies, and help plan and run customer advisory boards.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Sales, Marketing, Clinical Development and Medical Information, and engage with patient associations.

Required profile

• University degree in a life sciences discipline such as medicine (MD), pharmacy, biology or optometry.
• 2-4 years of experience in an MSL role.
• Advanced English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel extensively across Spain and Portugal, with up to 80% of working time spent with external customers and occasional European and international travel.

• Salary range of EUR 62,294 - EUR 93,441 gross per year depending on experience.
