Model Audit Consultant

About the role

Gridlines is looking for an experienced Model Audit Consultant to join its fast‑growing financial modelling practice. You will work with a team of modelling professionals to analyse, review and improve complex financial models, ensuring they are robust, accurate and aligned with commercial documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead model audit assignments and verify that models are arithmetically and commercially correct.
• Use software checks and parallel model development to identify modelling errors.
• Review commercial documentation and ensure it is accurately reflected in the financial model.
• Take ownership of assignments, delivering high‑quality outcomes and contributing to methodology enhancements.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation of assumptions, methodologies and results.
• Maintain meticulous records of modelling processes and support project planning.
• Train, motivate and manage junior team members on audit assignments.
• Communicate findings effectively to clients and internal teams, simplifying complex issues for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Support client pitch development and contribute to client calls and relationship building.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of relevant experience in a financial role within a recognised advisory practice or large corporate setting.
• Strong appreciation of accounting concepts; an accounting qualification is a plus.
• Good understanding of project finance concepts.
• Degree in a numerate discipline; postgraduate qualification in accounting or finance is beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel modelling.
• Familiarity with the FAST financial modelling standard.
