Motion Designer / Video Editor – Spain (12 Month Contract)

About the role

Canva is looking for a Motion Designer and Video Editor for its creative pod in Spain, a 12-month full-time contract paid by day rate. The role sits inside the local growth creative team alongside UGC creators, a copy writer and a creative operations manager, reporting to the Creative Strategist. It is a hybrid position with 2-3 days per week in the Madrid office.

Key responsibilities

• Animate Canva's design and brand assets into clean, fast, performant motion content that shows what the product does and why it matters.
• Produce performance creative for social and YouTube, working in sprint cycles where each piece is measured and improved week by week.
• Build YouTube assets with their own pacing, storytelling and retention focus.
• Recut creator and UGC footage into native-feeling content for Meta, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and other platforms.
• Design motion assets across short-form social and longer YouTube formats, and support lifecycle, events, partnerships and brand campaigns, including occasional light graphic design.
• Experiment with AI and modern motion tools to speed up routine work.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of motion design experience with a portfolio of shipped work across Meta, TikTok and YouTube, from concept to results.
• Strong fluency in After Effects or Cinema 4D, able to take a brief from concept to delivery alone.
• Solid video editing in CapCut, Canva Video and/or Premiere Pro, with a reliable, social-first cut.
• Experience editing creator content and finding hooks in raw footage.
• Comfort with a fast feedback loop and weekly numbers, and some graphic design literacy.
• Spanish and good English, with a feel for cultural resonance in local creative work.
