NGS Field Application Specialist - Spain

About the role

As a Field Application Specialist (d/f/m) for Roche's Sequencing Solutions, you will support customers of all assays and reagents in the portfolio. You are the direct contact for application-related inquiries from field staff and customers in hospitals, research and private laboratories, and work closely with the wider team and the Service team to roll out and support the new SBX platform.

Key responsibilities

• Provide application support for all Roche Sequencing products and assays
• Install and train customers on Sequencing Systems together with the Service team
• Troubleshoot on site to answer inquiries and resolve problems
• Co-create and run customer application trainings
• Assist local sales and marketing teams with your expertise
• Work with liquid handlers and their vendors
• Monitor service processes and overall product/system quality
• Attend internal and external events (meetings, seminars, conferences)

Required profile

• Completed studies in the natural sciences (e.g. biology, chemistry, medicine); a PhD is ideal
• Ideally 3 years of professional experience in a research or service institution with in-depth knowledge of NGS technologies
• Fluent Spanish and very good English
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to other European countries; ideally living near an international airport such as Madrid or Barcelona

Required skills

• Experience setting up NGS workflows on liquid handling systems (a plus)
• Basic understanding of bioinformatics (a plus)
• Strong knowledge of the IVD market and of genomics, oncology and the product environment
• Problem analysis and project management experience
