Operational Radar Engineer - Eurofighter

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is hiring an Operational Radar and Electronic Warfare Engineer to join the ESAOGEL Technical Assistance group within the CLAEX Systems Analysis team. The team works at the Logistic Centre for Armament and Experimentation (CLAEX) at Torrejón de Ardoz Air Base, interacting daily with the customer and national and international stakeholders on highly complex systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance and technical support on every adoption stage for radar systems under ESAOGEL responsibility.
• Define and evaluate operational data for SAF radar capabilities, including software, rigs and flight test.
• Support the customer on national and international exercises if required.
• Support the Mk1 Radar Equipment evolution and evaluation after ESCAN enters the SAF fleet.
• Analyse supplier documentation and identify and support the development or acquisition of resources for radar operations.
• Liaise with and coordinate other stakeholders, and support technical inquiries and reviews passed to suppliers.
• Travel on business to supplier facilities and evaluation campaigns.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (RF/Telecommunications/Aeronautical/Electrical).
• Knowledge of avionics systems, especially airborne sensors, radio frequency and electronic warfare.
• Experience with AVS rig evaluation of airborne sensors, defensive aids, datalinks, electronics warfare, armament, sensor fusion and HMI data.
• Experience defining data for operational flight tests and working with military aircraft customers.
• Technical documentation writing, good communication skills, willingness to travel and fluent written and spoken English.
• HPS NATO (Secret) and national clearance up to date.

Required skills

• Avionics systems requirements, specification, certification and qualification.
• Radar technologies, AESA radar, and operational data impact on avionics weapon systems (highly desirable).
• SW development experience and IT literacy (MS Office, databases) desirable.
