Overhead Line Equipment Engineering Intern

About the role

AECOM is looking for an Engineering Intern to join its Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) team in Madrid. The intern will take part in OLE design tasks, including the production of drawings, reports, BoQs and other deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Develop OLE layout designs
• Create load calculations for OLE structures
• Carry out basic and detailed design of OLE structures, developing cross-sections
• Collaborate on all engineering deliverables
• Develop design foundations for OLE elements
• Calculate electrical and mechanical clearance envelopes
• Create isolation diagrams and isolation instructions

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
• Railway electrification knowledge or experience with AC and DC electrification systems
• Knowledge of other railway systems such as signalling and traction power, and of high-speed and conventional lines
• Full professional English
• No prior experience required

Required skills

• CAD capabilities
• VBA and/or LISP coding knowledge
