Payroll Specialist (Spain)

About the role

Deutsche Bank's in-house Spain payroll team in Barcelona is looking for a Payroll Specialist to support the monthly payroll execution in ADP GlobalView. The role sits at the intersection of payroll operations and HR, working closely with employees, HR partners and external providers, and contributes to data accuracy, strong controls and continuous improvement of payroll processes.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the monthly Spain payroll in ADP GlobalView, ensuring accurate calculations and timely delivery.
• Manage employee lifecycle inputs (hires, terminations, absences, sick leave, overtime) and validate completeness and data quality.
• Apply payroll controls to ensure compliance, accuracy and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with HR teams and external providers on benefits-related inputs and employee queries.
• Contribute to process improvements and support payroll and HR systems initiatives (e.g. Workday).

Required profile

• Solid understanding of Spanish payroll processes, including basic labour, tax and social security requirements (1-3 years of experience).
• Ability to manage payroll data accurately and work with payroll systems such as ADP GlobalView or similar platforms.
• Clear communication skills in Spanish and English, with a collaborative mindset and interest in process improvement.

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills to analyse payroll data, perform reconciliations and support reporting.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimise workflows, with critical judgment on data and AI outputs.
• High attention to detail, organisation and ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
