People Advisor – HR Services

About the role

As a People Advisor you will support the Iberia region (Spain & Portugal) by delivering consistent, high‑quality HR services to colleagues and managers. The role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Barcelona office, and focuses on employee‑relations matters, compliance and continuous improvement of HR processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical guidance on performance management, investigations, disciplinary and grievance cases, redundancies and flexible‑working requests, ensuring alignment with Spanish and Portuguese labour law and Sage policies.
• Support absence management and wellbeing initiatives, coordinating with internal and external providers.
• Monitor employee‑relations and absence trends, escalating risks and insights to stakeholders.
• Act as a trusted advisor on policy application, manage complex cases and support organisational change activities such as consultations and contractual updates.
• Maintain accurate case records in HR systems, produce documentation and contribute to process improvement.
• Collaborate with People teams and Centres of Excellence to ensure a seamless colleague experience while complying with GDPR and local regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in people advisory or employee relations, preferably within Spain and/or Portugal.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish employment legislation; Portuguese knowledge is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; additional languages (Portuguese, Catalan, French, German) are advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases in a fast‑paced environment.
• Relevant HR or legal qualification or progress towards one (e.g., degree or postgraduate study in Law, Labour Relations, or HR).
