People Service & Payroll Specialist

About the role

As a People Service & Payroll Specialist for Spain, you will join an international People Services team supporting employees and managers across multiple European countries. You will be the primary HR contact in Spain, ensuring compliant HR processes and accurate pre‑payroll coordination while collaborating with colleagues in Belgium, the Netherlands and other locations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage HR administration and employee lifecycle processes from onboarding to off‑boarding.
• Ensure compliance with Spanish labour legislation, collective agreements and internal HR policies.
• Coordinate and validate pre‑payroll activities, providing accurate data to external payroll providers.
• Support the monthly payroll cycle by reviewing and supplying HR‑related information.
• Act as a backup for HR and payroll activities in Belgium, the Netherlands and France.
• Maintain HR systems, employee records, contracts and reporting with high attention to detail.
• Assist managers on employee relations, absence management and other people‑related matters together with the People Business Partner.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and contribute to cross‑country harmonisation.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in an HR Generalist, People Officer or People Advisor role.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish employment legislation and HR administration.
• Fluent in Spanish, English and French.
• Proactive, discreet and comfortable solving HR‑related problems independently.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of Spanish payroll processes and pre‑payroll coordination.
• Knowledge of the Sisquella HR system (a plus).
• Excellent communication skills with employees, managers and external partners.
