Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer

About the role

TOMRA Food is a multinational provider of sensor-based sorting, peeling and integrated post-harvest solutions for the food industry. As a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer you help customers turn complex production challenges into practical, high-performing processing solutions. You assess customer operations, interpret process and performance data and translate business objectives into technically sound system concepts, working across Sales, Service, Product, Engineering and project delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with customers on process flows, constraints, performance goals and capacity needs
• Map current-state processes and identify opportunities to improve throughput, quality, yield, resource efficiency and equipment utilization
• Develop solution concepts, equipment configurations, process layouts, technical specifications and performance assumptions
• Design and evaluate integrated processing systems, including interfaces with third-party equipment
• Run product demonstrations, application tests, field trials and proof-of-concept activities, documenting methods, results, risks and recommendations
• Facilitate technical reviews and give presentations and workshops to customers
• Support commercial teams with technical content for proposals and quotations, and ensure a structured technical handover to implementation teams
• Maintain reusable solution standards, reference designs and lessons learned, and monitor emerging technologies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Automation or equivalent industry experience
• Experience in Agri-Tech, food processing, automation, material handling or equipment-related industries
• Professional proficiency in Spanish and English
• Experience supporting customers through sales, applications, service, technical support, process engineering or solution development, and in a customer-facing technical role
• Valid work permit or visa status where required, and ability to travel up to 30% within the EMEA region
• Valid, unrestricted driving licence

• Analyzing operational data and recommending technical solutions
• Preparing technical documentation, specifications, proposals and customer presentations
• System design, process evaluation and equipment integration
• CAD and design software such as AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks
