Preschool Reception Learning Assistant

About the role

The Reception Learning Assistant supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children at the British School of Málaga. The role involves assisting with classroom management, preparing instructional materials, and promoting positive social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and educational games aligned with the preschool curriculum.
• Monitor children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and outdoor play to ensure safety and positive behavior.
• Reinforce classroom rules and help guide children in developing appropriate social and emotional skills.
• Set up and organize classroom materials, resources, and displays to support hands‑on learning.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free environment, including sanitising toys and equipment.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support for children needing extra help or emotional assistance.
• Observe children’s development and communicate concerns or progress to the lead teacher.
• Assist with daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals, and rest time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Lic. Educación Preescolar) or equivalent (required).
• Completion of a TKT Training Course.
• Prior experience working with young children in an educational or care setting (preferred).
