Procurement Specialist

About the role

ABB is looking for a Procurement Specialist to manage subcontractors and purchase components for the production of electrical cabinets. You will ensure that outsourced manufacturing meets quality, cost and delivery standards while supporting the company’s global commodity strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement outsourcing strategies, select qualified subcontractors and monitor compliance with production timelines.
• Manage procurement of electrical‑cabinet components, coordinate with logistics and guarantee material availability.
• Maintain and update internal procedures and systems such as SAP and ARIBA.
• Execute supplier‑management processes including qualification, selection, evaluation and development.
• Conduct negotiations to achieve cost savings and ensure adherence to Purchase‑to‑Pay (P2P) guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with internal customers, engineering and logistics to meet technical and delivery requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical studies or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial manufacturing and 4‑5 years in procurement.
• Willingness to travel worldwide and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1) and ability to work in a collaborative, open‑minded environment.
