Job description
About the role
Swiss Re is looking for a Product Manager for its Data-Driven Underwriting & Analytics team in Madrid, working 80-100% of the time. You will manage the product lifecycle of capabilities in the underwriting solutions portfolio, initially focusing on Underwriting Assistant, and balance regional needs with a coherent global product. The role combines product direction with hands-on requirements, prioritisation and release readiness.
Key responsibilities
- Shape the product vision, roadmap and priorities, balancing client needs, market opportunities, business value and delivery capacity.
- Translate underwriting workflows and business needs into requirements, user journeys and acceptance criteria.
- Work with technology, AI and UX teams to drive development, manage dependencies, coordinate testing and improve product quality.
- Advance AI-driven underwriting capabilities, including medical evidence extraction, summarisation and integration of data sources such as electronic health records, APS and laboratory reports.
- Support client engagements, proofs of concept and implementations, and collaborate with external technology and data providers.
- Align stakeholders across regions and functions and communicate product priorities and delivery expectations.
Required profile
- Proven B2B software product management experience, from discovery and requirements through to delivery and adoption.
- Strong command of roadmap planning, backlog prioritisation and the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to turn complex, competing business needs into clear requirements and acceptance criteria, and to prioritise in resource-constrained environments.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data, technical teams and external partners.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management, able to challenge requests and push back when needed.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the Life & Health insurance or reinsurance value chain, underwriting workflows and medical evidence processes.
- Experience with AI/ML products, generative AI, document extraction and summarisation.
- Knowledge of SaaS products, API-based integrations, vendor evaluation, UX design principles and client adoption strategies.
What we offer
- Annual base salary range of EUR 45,000 to EUR 75,000 for a full-time role in Spain, depending on profile and requirements.
- A performance-based variable compensation component.
- Global and location-specific benefits, subject to policy terms.
- Hybrid work model with at least three days in the office per week.
