Program Manager (Product, Technology)

About the role

Rakuten TV, a leading European video-on-demand platform, is looking for a Program Manager to join its Product organisation and report directly to the Chief Product Officer. The role owns how the organisation plans, tracks and reports its work, partnering with squad Product Managers, technology owners and engineering managers, and acts as a thought partner to the CPO on the annual Product & Technology strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a single, trusted view of every roadmap item and cross-team project, flag risks and publish a regular risk view for the CPO and CTO
• Report planned versus delivered work by squad each month and give weekly facts rather than opinions
• Escalate issues through agreed triggers, separating technical root causes from scope, resourcing or prioritisation issues
• Build and maintain a capacity view by team and squad, track estimates against actuals and manage launches end to end with a post-launch check
• Work with engineering managers and squad leads to improve how work is planned and delivered without trading quality for speed
• Design, run and simplify the operating processes, choose and own the tracking and reporting tools, and support the annual strategy and plan
• Own the RFP process for large opportunities such as enterprise services for telcos and white-label apps, and coordinate responses between Sales and the technology team

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in PMO, program or delivery management within a software, product or technology organisation
• Proven track record of improving delivery predictability and execution quality
• Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking and excellent communication and influence
• Fluency in English; Spanish or other European languages are a plus

Required skills

• Experience setting up lightweight processes and using project tracking and reporting tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, spreadsheets, BI dashboards)
• Experience with agile delivery; exposure to bid or RFP management is a plus
• PMP, PRINCE2 or similar certification is a plus
