Project Engineer – Robotics Department

About the role

Mecalux is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Robotics Department at the headquarters in Cornellà de Llobregat. You will translate customer needs into practical, compliant designs for automated storage and retrieval systems, supporting the company’s innovative logistics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Convert client specifications into feasible design solutions, ensuring adherence to CE norms and local regulations.
• Prepare system layouts, technical specifications, installation packs, and maintain comprehensive project documentation and risk assessments.
• Review equipment designs, capacities, and third‑party quotations to guarantee standardisation, cost efficiency and value engineering.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Simulation, Sales, Project Management) and attend customer meetings to provide technical expertise.
• Utilise MS Office, CAD tools and proprietary software for design analysis and project execution.
• Identify and implement process improvements, cost‑saving measures and efficiency gains while complying with safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience as a Project Engineer in an automated materials handling environment.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks and EPLAN.
• Strong command of MS Office for documentation and analysis.
