Project Planning and Controls Specialist

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY SPAIN, S.A.U. is building its ES Regional Office (ESOPC) in Madrid within the Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe. As a Project Planning and Controls Specialist you will join a team delivering power conversion projects across the region, taking ownership of planning and control activities on selected workstreams while working closely with project managers and senior planners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules for delivery projects, and prepare, update and analyse current and forecasted schedules.
• Monitor project costs, resources and risks, and identify potential delays to support mitigation actions.
• Prepare reports and analyses such as S-curves, OTD, earned value and critical path, and proactively flag deviations and risks to project managers.
• Collaborate with project leadership to apply and improve Project Controls practices and contribute to continuous improvement in planning, scheduling and execution.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Required profile

• Around 4 years of relevant experience in Planning & Scheduling and Project Controls, ideally in engineering, EPC or project-driven environments.
• Structured, organised and able to manage priorities independently; collaborative and comfortable with cross-functional teams.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; additional languages, especially German, are a plus.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Earned Value Analysis and S-curves.
• Experience with Primavera P6 is highly valued.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
