Project Product Owner - Global AI Transformation

About the role

Join Santander’s Global AI Transformation team as a Project Product Owner, driving the end‑to‑end implementation of Conversational AI chat products across the bank’s channels. You will work closely with local CDAIOs, technology teams and business units to improve customer experience, optimise operations and unlock new sources of value.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the global AI transformation program for chat products, aligning roadmap and initiatives with Santander’s AI strategy.
• Translate business needs into scalable, secure and compliant AI use cases that deliver measurable value.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to integrate AI chat capabilities into multiple channels.
• Own end‑to‑end proposals, plans, activities, dependencies and stakeholder management.
• Coordinate cross‑functional adoption, communicate complex problems clearly and serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders.

Required profile

• 10+ years in technology or engineering roles, with at least 5 years leading DATA/AI transformation projects.
• Proven track record managing complex projects and multi‑disciplinary teams in agile environments.
• Excellent communication skills, strategic and analytical mindset, and ability to influence executive level.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in Data & AI technologies and solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud environments, APIs and CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep knowledge of integration architectures, data flows and performance optimisation.
