Propulsion Test Engineer

About the role

PLD Space is looking for a hands‑on Propulsion Test Engineer to support the MIURA 5 launch vehicle program. The position focuses on testing propulsion hardware from development through qualification and acceptance, primarily at the company’s facilities in Elche with occasional work at the Teruel test site.

Key responsibilities

• Understand liquid‑rocket engine subsystems and components.
• Design, plan and execute test campaigns and test‑hardware for engines and propulsive stages.
• Write test plans, procedures and maintain configuration‑management records.
• Perform data analysis, generate performance reports and conduct material characterization.
• Collaborate with design teams to develop new propulsion‑testing tooling.
• Coordinate with technicians to prepare test articles, operate cryogenic, fuel and high‑pressure facilities.
• Apply safety principles for high‑pressure fluids and cryogenic operations.
• Support any additional duties related to propulsion testing.

Required profile

• BSc in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with liquid‑rocket propulsion testing.
• Strong knowledge of test procedures, industry standards and safety practices for high‑pressure and cryogenic systems.
• Ability to design test campaigns, write clear documentation and analyse test data.
• Effective teamwork with technicians and engineering teams.
