Rail Systems BIM Modeler - Bentley OpenBuildings

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Rail Systems OpenBuildings Modeler / BIM Coordinator to join its growing Rail Systems team in Madrid. The team delivers international railway projects across the USA, UK, Canada and Australia, covering traction power substations, power distribution, overhead catenary, telecommunications, signalling and cable routing, as well as station and industrial facility building services. The role supports project delivery through BIM modelling and coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Support engineers in understanding project installations and identify, manage and resolve design interfaces and clashes.
• Develop and manage 3D models from scratch using Bentley MicroStation and OpenBuildings Designer.
• Organise and take part in BIM coordination meetings with other disciplines and modelling teams.
• Supervise and coordinate other BIM modelers, ensuring consistency, quality and compliance with project requirements.
• Collaborate with remote teams and work closely with engineers throughout the design process, proposing practical solutions to potential issues.

Required profile

• 3-7 years of relevant professional experience in BIM modelling and/or coordination.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Bentley software, especially MicroStation and OpenBuildings Designer.
• Experience with Bentley ProjectWise for project information and document management.
• Ability to work with remote, geographically distributed teams.
• Experience supervising, coordinating and reviewing the work of other BIM modelers.
• C1-level English or equivalent full professional proficiency.

Required skills

• BIM workflows, 3D modelling and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Desirable: Autodesk software such as Revit, Civil 3D and ACC / BIM 360.
• Desirable: MEP modelling or coordination (power distribution, communications, catenary, signalling, cable routing).
• Desirable: railway infrastructure or other multidisciplinary engineering projects.

The position is offered with hybrid working options, between the office, remote work and client sites.
