Research Associate – Organic Synthesis

About the role

Eurofins Scientific, an international life sciences company offering analytical testing services, is looking for a Research Associate in Fuente Álamo de Murcia. The main mission is to work on a research project within a team of five chemists, synthesising collections of new organic molecules to the purity, quantity and structural determination required by clients. This is a 100% laboratory position.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out organic synthesis reactions at laboratory scale.
• Purify compounds using various techniques.
• Analyse, identify and characterise compounds.
• Record experiments accurately in the electronic lab notebook.
• Operate scientific equipment such as flash chromatography (MPLC), rotary evaporator, UV, high vacuum, H-Cube, microwave, flow chemistry, electrochemistry, automatic synthesizers, HPLC and TLC.
• Maintain equipment and the laboratory workspace.
• Communicate fluently with the team and the laboratory manager.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an organic chemistry laboratory.
• Basic laboratory operations.
• Organic nomenclature and basic organic formulation.
• Recognition of functional groups.

Required skills

• Organic synthesis and purification techniques.
• Use of HPLC, TLC, MPLC and other analytical instruments.
