RFE Design/Stress Engineer Internship – Discover II 2026/2027

About the role

Join Airbus for an 11‑month full‑time internship (40 h/week) starting in early October 2026 as an RFE Design/Stress Engineer. You will work within the IAT Design Office, supporting the Rear Fuselage and Empennage (RFE) team on a range of Airbus programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Define detailed design solutions for structural components such as HTP, VTP, belly fairings, landing‑gear doors and wing covers.
• Produce engineering deliverables including specifications, authoring of drawings, technical documents and verification & validation plans.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of design data and support manufacturing deviation resolutions.
• Participate in product definition activities, balancing time, quality, weight, cost and performance targets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and in‑service modification projects.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (BSc/MSc) in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
• Strong interest in the aeronautical sector and willingness to develop a professional career in aerospace.
• Ability to work in a transnational, multidisciplinary environment.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
