ROC Technical Lead - Wind Remote Operations

About the role

GE Vernova is looking for a ROC Technical Lead for its Remote Operations Center supporting offshore wind assets, based in Barcelona, Spain. The role covers both commissioning and service phases, working closely with site teams and engineering experts to detect, analyse and resolve technical issues so that turbines operate reliably throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor turbine performance and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions
• Support commissioning and service activities through remote diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Assist field teams in resolving technical issues and restoring performance
• Escalate complex issues with clear, structured technical information
• Analyse operational data to identify faults, trends and improvement opportunities
• Support reporting and communication of technical findings, and contribute to process improvement
• Support grid outages when required, prioritising safety and compliance
• Work a rotating weekday shift schedule (Monday to Friday, morning and afternoon shifts) with occasional on-call support on weekends and public holidays

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience in the wind energy sector
• Hands-on experience with wind turbines or similar electromechanical systems in operational environments
• Fluent English (spoken and written), willingness to relocate to Barcelona and EU work eligibility
• Availability to travel up to 20% of the time, if required
• Nice to have: control room or remote operations experience, offshore wind or commissioning experience, exposure to advanced turbine control systems such as MarkVIe, experience in multicultural teams, and fluent Spanish

Required skills

• Ability to read electrical schematics and apply them in troubleshooting and field support
• Experience with SCADA systems and other digital monitoring tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, clear technical communication and a calm, structured approach under pressure
