SAP PP/DS DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

BASF Digital Hub Madrid develops digital solutions for BASF and is looking for a DevOps engineer focused on SAP S/4 PP/DS (production planning and detailed scheduling). The role sits in a self-organised DevOps team with an initial development focus, working in a hybrid setting within a global team.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse production planning and detailed scheduling requirements with planners and business users and turn them into user stories and IT specifications.
• Design, configure and implement SAP S/4 PP/DS solutions.
• Support the migration of legacy SAP APO PP/DS capabilities to SAP S/4 PP/DS.
• Guide developers on enhancements, user exits, interfaces and UI requirements, and validate the results.
• Create functional and integration test scenarios, support UAT and coordinate defect resolution.
• Prepare functional documentation and training materials, coach end users and support cutover, go-live and knowledge transfer.
• Support integration of SAP S/4 PP/DS with advanced planning platforms such as OMP.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain management, IT, industrial engineering, business informatics, computer science or a related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4 PP/DS and SAP APO PP/DS.
• Experience in SAP consulting, application development or DevOps, with a focus on production planning and detailed scheduling.
• Strong functional knowledge of production planning, detailed scheduling, capacity planning, heuristics and scheduling strategies.
• Excellent English; ability to bridge planners, business stakeholders, developers and solution architects and to run requirements workshops.
• Ability to own functional work items from requirements through implementation, testing and deployment, and to work independently in a globally distributed team.
