About the role

Barceló Hotel Group is seeking a motivated Second Kitchen Chef to support the Head Chef at its Playa Blanca resort in Lanzarote. You will help ensure smooth kitchen operations, maintain quality standards, and contribute to revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and substitute the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen processes.
• Implement sales plans and drive revenue through promotional actions.
• Organise and coordinate all kitchen services and stations.
• Control food costs and optimise resource utilisation.
• Lead, train, motivate and develop kitchen staff.
• Monitor and maintain service quality to meet guest expectations.

Required profile

• Higher‑level culinary or hospitality qualification (e.g., Superior Cycle in Kitchen Management, Tourism degree, HACCP training).
• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar kitchen leadership role.
• High level of English is desirable.
• Knowledge of office software, kitchen products, machinery and utensils.
• Strong sensory memory, creativity and manual dexterity.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer‑orientation skills.
• Team‑player with problem‑solving, decision‑making and analytical abilities.
• Ability to plan, organise and develop teams.
