Senior Antibot Engineer

About the role

Digital Shelf by NIQ, a cybersecurity business within NielsenIQ, is looking for a Senior Antibot Engineer in Barcelona. The team works on anti-bot technology, scraping data for billions of products and managing billions of data points, and needs someone who enjoys pushing systems to their limits while keeping the highest ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse web and mobile applications (APK/IPA) to uncover hidden mechanisms, disassembling code and focusing on cryptographic functions that protect the systems.
• Evaluate and bypass advanced security protocols such as TLS, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, WebSockets, DoH and session management, identifying vulnerabilities to improve data extraction.
• Develop custom Python scripts and frameworks that automate bypass procedures and adapt to security changes, such as modifying TLS stacks or patching JavaScript on the fly.
• Implement stealthy scraping techniques such as browser patching, headless browser evasion, proxy tunneling and human-behaviour emulation.
• Continuously test, disrupt and improve the tools to stay ahead of evolving defenses.

Required profile

• Passion for reverse engineering and a strong sense of ethics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, open team.

Required skills

• Reverse engineering with tools such as IDA Pro or Ghidra, on binary and web code.
• Deep knowledge of protocols such as TLS, HTTP/2, WebSockets and DoH.
• Advanced Python development, able to design and implement robust solutions for complex problems.
