Senior Backend Developer (Turkish Speaking)

About the role

Codeway builds consumer AI apps on mobile and web at global scale, with 600M+ downloads and 60+ apps. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will design, build and operate the scalable backend services powering mobile apps and web experiences used by millions, owning features end-to-end from system design and AI integration to deployment and production monitoring, with a focus on API quality, performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance backend architectures and microservices/RESTful APIs for mobile and web clients using Node.js and Python.
• Own features end-to-end, from ideation and implementation through deployment (GCP/Firebase) and continuous optimisation.
• Integrate AI and media workflows, deploying and monitoring LLMs and STT/TTS, image/video/audio processing in production.
• Build event-driven systems using queues and tasks for heavy media and AI workloads.
• Optimise latency, throughput, reliability and costs, and establish error handling, security and observability.
• Debug issues and improve system stability in production.
• Collaborate with Mobile, Frontend, Product, DevOps and AI teams to ship features.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer building consumer-facing products at scale.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in English and Turkish, able to explain engineering decisions to technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to work in high-scale environments with large volumes of traffic and data.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on proficiency in Node.js and Python, with system design fundamentals.
• Microservices, RESTful APIs, databases, performance optimisation and security best practices.
• Cloud environments such as GCP, AWS or Azure (GCP and/or Firebase preferred).
• Experience deploying and optimising AI models in production.
• Nice to have: GCP tools (Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, App Engine), Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS, SSE/WebSockets.
