Senior Clinical Solutions Engineer, Data

About the role

AstraZeneca's Evinova business unit is hiring a Senior Clinical Solutions Engineer, Data for its SaaS Delivery team, based in Barcelona with a minimum of three days per week on site; remote or travel flexibility is not available. The role is customer-facing and acts as a trusted advisor on data requirements, data standards and technical solutions for connecting with Evinova's SaaS solutions. It works across clinical trial operational, study design, cost and rate, and feasibility data, and suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead customer data conversations and discovery, identifying datasets, data owners and stakeholders, and advise customers on data standards and how their data maps to Evinova's out-of-the-box offerings.
• Develop expertise in Evinova's data landscape and customer data architectures, providing technical oversight during implementation and configuration.
• Guide customers through source data collection, dataset preparation, mapping and transformation to Evinova standards, support onboarding, build and load data deliverables, review data quality and validate loaded data.
• Manage defects and issues through to resolution, lead root-cause analysis, navigate change control and environment promotion, and champion change initiatives.
• Track and communicate implementation progress across customers and partners, working independently across multiple engagements.
• Oversee end-to-end customer data integration, including requirements, configuration, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and data privacy and regulatory compliance.
• Manage configuration as code, support upgrade impact assessments, and ensure integrations meet data privacy and regulatory requirements.
• Act as product subject matter expert, answering post-implementation technical questions, supporting pre-sales on feasibility and scoping, and acting as liaison between customers, vendors and internal teams.
• Document best practices, delivery playbooks, templates and checklists, train internal teams and customers, and keep a commercial mindset.

Required profile

• 8-10 years of experience in clinical operations, clinical data management, clinical trial planning or a related technical field.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (IT, information management, data science, computer science, life sciences) or equivalent experience.
• Ability to handle high-visibility technical customer engagements, work independently across multiple engagements and own problems end to end.
• Executive presence, strong communication and ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of clinical trial data structures, terminologies and standards, including USDM and CDISC.
• Hands-on familiarity with clinical trial operational, study design, cost and rate, and feasibility data.
• Structured data formats and secure file transfer.
• Configuration in version control, command-line tools and basic cloud concepts (e.g., AWS).
• Jira and Confluence.
• Analyzing data flows, troubleshooting complex data issues and managing formal change control in regulated environments.
