Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Socialpoint, a mobile game studio owned by Zynga and Take-Two Interactive, is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for its Central Analytics team in Barcelona. You will build high-quality data marts, tools and AI-powered workflows that shape player experience and drive game growth, working alongside Analytics Engineers and with game and marketing analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Write and optimise complex SQL queries to support experimentation and feature engineering on large player datasets.
• Design, build and maintain cross-game data marts with clean, transformed data for analysts.
• Develop scalable, reusable code, tools and frameworks usable across game teams.
• Co-design and maintain data tools and products with game analytics teams.
• Build and maintain end-to-end AI pipelines supporting analysts' daily work.
• Share knowledge by teaching game analysts coding and software engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, Statistics or Physics).
• Advanced SQL, including CTEs, query optimisation and large-scale data warehouses.
• Production data pipelines with Airflow, Docker, S3 and CI/CD.
• Advanced Python for production data analytics solutions.
• Basic to intermediate experience with LLMs or generative AI tools.
• Nice to have: Tableau dashboards, mobile gaming or marketing analytics background.
