Senior Digital R&D & Automation Engineer

About the role

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS), a worldwide leader in integrated power semiconductors and systems power delivery architectures, is hiring a Senior Digital R&D & Automation Engineer in Barcelona. The role covers designing and developing tools and scripts, automating tasks, defining and implementing new standard development flows and methodologies, and configuring and maintaining industry-standard EDA tools for digital and mixed-signal IC design. Products include switching regulators, display drivers, audio amplifiers, precision linear circuits and power management ICs.

Key responsibilities

• Script ASIC mixed-signal design tools and automate tasks across teams (Digital Design, Physical, Verification, DFT, Mixed-Signal, etc.)
• R&D of new methodologies, flows, tools, IPs and licenses
• Work on R&D tasks covering any stage of the ASIC IC design flow
• Define, implement and automate new standard flows and methodologies, and improve existing ones
• Develop a continuous integration and continuous delivery environment for IC design
• Linux system administration: install, build, test and develop new environments, tools and scripts
• Troubleshoot machine, network and tool problems, document processes and flows, and work with Digital, CAD and IT teams

Required profile

• BSEE/BSCS or equivalent (MSEE/MSCS preferred)
• Experience in system administration and supporting/installing CAD tools
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

Required skills

• Unix/Linux administration and networking
• Scripting languages (Tcl, Perl, Python, csh, etc.) and OOP
• Revision control tools (Git, GitLab)
• DevOps knowledge (CI, CD, pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Plus: basic Verilog/SystemVerilog, ASIC design flow, AI usage in development, API client development, unit and integration testing
