Senior Engineer - Fleet Engineering RCA Leader, Machine Head

About the role

Gevernova is looking for a Mechanical engineer to act as Fleet Engineering RCA Leader for Machine Head in Barcelona. You will own wing-to-wing root cause analyses (RCAs) on Machine Head components such as main shaft, bedplate, gearbox and main and yaw bearings, working with Design Engineering, Sourcing, Parts, Services, Warranty and Quality to turn insights into fleet-wide improvements that raise availability, reliability and customer trust.

Key responsibilities

• Own, lead and resolve assigned RCAs on Machine Head mechanical systems, defining fast-track containment and reducing Major Component Upgrades
• Build relationships with Fleet Performance, NPI Engineering, Field, Sourcing, Parts and Quality teams, and escalate the RCA team when needed
• Track RCA impact on availability and failure rates, and keep assigned KPIs, especially on-time delivery, under control
• Act as the technical point of contact for customers, support escalated PAC cases and RCA-related SAFER actions, and partner with Sourcing on vendor recovery of supplier defects
• Provide regular RCA progress updates in the Quality Suite, define the RCA budget and PO workflow, and maintain organized RCA documentation
• Mentor junior RCA team leaders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical discipline; Master's degree preferred
• Extensive experience, preferably in the wind industry
• Prior team management experience, either direct or indirect reports
• Ability to travel 10% of the time and to climb a wind turbine

Required skills

• Proven experience leading or supporting mechanical RCAs with 8D, Shainin, Lean, Six Sigma or similar methods
• Root cause analysis training or certification (8D, Apollo, Shainin or similar)
• Statistical literacy and familiarity with quality tools (Six Sigma, Lean)
• Deep understanding of the 8D process, product development cycle and wind turbine systems (yaw, drivetrain, bearings, gearbox, HPU)
