Senior Full-Stack Developer (Remote)

About the role

OpenNebula Systems builds the open-source platform that helps organisations manage corporate data centres and build enterprise clouds. It is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Developer to work on the OpenNebula cloud management platform and its new edge computing project. The role spans front-end and back-end development with a stronger focus on front-end, in a distributed, fully remote international team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain features across the OpenNebula web interface, mainly on the front end and contributing to back-end components when needed.
• Own features from development through testing, documentation and delivery.
• Write well-tested, maintainable code with strong test coverage.
• Troubleshoot issues across the front-end/back-end boundary in Linux environments.
• Produce clear technical documentation and explain technical decisions to the team.
• Propose improvements to the product, codebase and development practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering.
• 3+ years of professional software development in production environments, beyond purely front-end work.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining user-facing web applications, and with modern workflows, version control and documentation.
• Intermediate to advanced English (B2 or higher).

Required skills

• React, Angular or Vue, with a preference for React in daily work.
• Node.js, NPM and modern JavaScript.
• Linux development environments (RHEL/AlmaLinux, Ubuntu/Debian) and Git; Cypress is a plus.
• Virtualization, Ruby or cloud platforms such as OpenNebula are a strong plus.
