Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Backend‑Heavy)

About the role

Preply is a unicorn‑status language‑learning platform that connects learners with tutors worldwide. As a Senior Full‑Stack Engineer you will help shape scalable, data‑driven products that improve the learning experience for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve backend services using Python/Django, driving architectural decisions and creating new integrations.
• Develop and maintain frontend features in React/TypeScript, contributing to experimentation frameworks and UI best practices.
• Lead complex initiatives from discovery through deployment, owning solutions throughout their lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers, conduct architectural reviews, and promote engineering excellence across the stack.
• Partner with product, data, and UX teams to validate hypotheses, run A/B tests, and deliver measurable customer value.
• Shape system design for scalability, reliability, and maintainability while balancing short‑term delivery with long‑term sustainability.

Required profile

• Proven experience using generative AI tools as a thought partner while ensuring code quality, security, and architectural soundness.
• Strong product mindset with the ability to translate ambiguous business challenges into scalable technical solutions.
• High ownership and accountability, driving initiatives from concept to measurable outcomes.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering, product, design, and data functions (English B2+).
