Senior Generative AI Engineer

About the role

IQVIA is looking for a Senior Generative AI Engineer to join its team working on the Orion platform, which accelerates the development and delivery of GenAI products. The engineer helps standardize and simplify the technology stack, provides reusable components for innovation and shields application teams from technical complexity so they can focus on their work.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect the Orion GenAI platform to support scalable and efficient GenAI product deployment.
• Implement strategies that speed up the development and delivery lifecycle of GenAI products.
• Develop and enforce standardized technology stacks and best practices across projects.
• Provide standard components and tools that let application teams build quickly without reinventing the wheel.
• Abstract and manage complex technical challenges so application teams can focus on application-specific functionality.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and integrate GenAI solutions seamlessly.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience, with relevant experience in AI and a focus on GenAI.
• Proven experience designing robust software architectures for large-scale platforms.
• Deep knowledge of transformer architectures, embedding models, large language models (LLMs), RAG and AI agents.
• Solid background in data and machine learning engineering; experience with Databricks is a plus.
• Extensive cloud experience, preferably Azure.
• Master's degree in Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Math or a related field is preferred.

Required skills

• CI/CD pipelines, version control and testing methodologies.
• Advanced Python programming.
• Web technologies, particularly JavaScript, for interactive interfaces.
• Nice to have: parallel processing and GPU/CUDA programming.
